About the event

The Whanganui Potters Society annual exhibition is here. Show off the pieces you've been working hard on all year, or simply come and oogle or purchase Whanganui pottery.

How do I enter?

The WPS Annual exhibition is open to all paid members.

Download and print the exhibition registration form, and fill out your details.  We suggest you make a copy for yourself to keep. We'll have printed copies available at the studio.

Download the exhibition registration form as word doc or as a PDF

What is the curation/selection process?

Bring your completed form and the items you want to submit to the artwork curation/selection/photography session. Committee members will assess your items, and mark off those selected for entry to the exhibition. Curation is mostly about checking items do not have flaws or errors. If you are entering a set, the pieces should have a cohesive theme.

Laura will photograph one of your items for the exhibition catalogue. Think about a couple of items you'd like photographed for the catalogue, and discuss on the day with Laura which will be the best.

The curation and photography will happen on Sat 4th May. We are finalising times but expect it to be after the market finishes. I'll update this when I know.

After curation and photography, you will take your items away until artwork drop-off.

When is artwork drop-off?

Drop off your selected items to the Whanganui Pottery Studio between 10 - 12am or 5 - 6:30pm Wed 15th May. Committee members will then assemble the exhibition.

How many pieces can I enter?

You can have 8 entries in total.

2 entries can be sets of up to 6 individual pieces.

Entries must be for sale, but you can specify two entries as not for sale. Your pieces should be cohesive groups.

Work will be curated and photographed for the catalogue.

Pieces need to be labelled underneath with your initials, item number and price (or not for sale)

A 20% commission will be charged to cover the cost of the exhibition

Pot sitting

All exhibitors must take a turn to ‘Pot Sit’. Sign up for either a morning (10am - 12:30) or afternoon (12:30 - 4pm) session. The sign up form is in the studio by the whiteboard.

What does registering do?

It lets us know who's planning to attend ahead of time, and gives us an easy way to communicate with those attending.

What are the times and dates again?
