Class description
Rob Housley teaches our beginner pottery course, catering for complete beginners or people who want to refresh their skills in clay making and have fun in doing so. The course consists of eight two hour classes, held on a Tuesday evening from 6:30- 8:30pm. The course is designed for up to 14 students. You will need to book a place on this course. What will I learn? The tutor will demonstrate several hand-built projects where you will have hands on help to make a number of vessels/art objects. What skills will I be instructed in? All projects will involve manipulating clay using your hands and tools. Projects will cover pinch pots, press moulds, slab building, slip decorations and how to make a mug. In addition, Rob will assist with glazing and glaze decoration. What do I need to bring? The tutor will supply all tools & supplies, but you may want to bring an apron or wear old clothes.
